You will be managing a team of servers and network infrastructure administrators, as well as responsible for the infrastructure itself.  Environment is Windows as well as Unix systems (AIX), and Microsoft SQL Server for most storage.  You will also be responsible for old as well as new VoIP switches. 

- Management technical staff

- Proper operation, upgrades, and changes to local and wide area networks

- Management, installation and upgrades to all servers in all locations

- Management of the e-mail environment (Microsoft Exchange)

- Management of technical security - perimeter defense, anti-virus/spam, policy monitoring and enforcement, patches, testing, etc.

- Performance and availability monitoring and reaction

- Contingency and disaster recovery planning (in conjunction with other groups), and implementation and testing of those plans

- Migration and integration of acquired companies, locations users, and associated hardware

- Budgetary planning for the above, and working with senior management to ensure timely and cost-efficient implementation and production

- Management of vendor relations and contracts supporting the infrastructure, including negotiation and contract management

- Acquisition, management and auditing of phone systems, data, voice and mobile services, and contracts for equipment maintenance and services

- A minimum of 10 years involvement with technical infrastructure and systems, with at least 3 years in a management capacity.

- Demonstrated management skills

- A four year college degree in a technical field

- Deep and thorough knowledge of Windows AD, Exchange and related systems

- Experience in developing automated systems for managing a moderate (2000+) desktop environment

- Good working knowledge of Unix (AIX preferred)

- Good working knowledge of SQL Server with respect to infrastructure, and ability to manage the Database Administration staff

- Experience in sophisticated SAN implementations, including performance and exception management (EMC Clarion experience preferred)

- Knowledge of common server and desktop hardware, ability to recommend efficient and appropriate systems to meet our needs, and monitor the cost and reliability of existing infrastructure and plan for (and budget for) appropriate replacement

- Demonstrated experience in designing moderate scope wide area networks (50-100 nodes or more)

- Solid understanding of good security principles, technology, and best practices.

- Demonstrated ability to design processes and technology to monitor performance, availability, and react to exceptions

- Experience in building contingency and D/R plans

- Experience in vendor management for technical infrastructure.

- Strong communications skills, in English, written and oral. 

- Ability to handle/organize multiple complex technical projects simultaneously.

= Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to coordinate and direct others in managing many simultaneous issues while keeping users and customers informed and functioning

- Ability to deliver concise and relevant status to company and I.S. Management, tracking all aspects of infrastructure status, as well as projects and exceptions.
