Description: This is eleven months contract starting ASAP downtown Edmonton. You will provide daily production operational and technical support for the UNIX and Intel (Windows) based business applications. The amount of work split between the UNIX and Intel environments may vary according to workload, but the focus will mainly be on Intel business applications. Business applications that reside on the UNIX environment are written in PowerBuilder, C, Perl, Java, Kornshell, and stored procedures. These business applications run on a Sun Solaris Operating System with an Oracle or Sybase database. Mandatory Requirements: (a) Experience providing operational support in a client server environment. - 2 years or more experience in the past 5 years (b) Experience with Microsoft Windows or Sun Solaris operating systems. Knowledge of both user level and basic system administration. - 2 years or more experience in the past 5 years (c) Experience with maintenance, operations and/or development on Microsoft Windows or Sun Solaris business applications. - 2 years or more experience in the past 5 years (d) Experience in a client-server environment comprised of various technologies and vendors working directly with database applications such as SQL, Sybase, or Oracle. - 2 years or more experience in the past 5 years (e) Experience developing and maintaining operational documentation. - 2 years or more experience in the past 5 years (f) Experience with SQL query language. - 2 years or more experience in the past 5 years Desirable Requirements: (g) Experience with batch scheduling software. - 2 years or more experience in the past 5 years (h) Proven ability to work independently and in a team/group environment. - 2 years or more experience in the past 5 years (i) Related experience working in the public sector. - 2 years or more experience in the past 5 years (j) Experience with XML / XSLT. - 2 years or more experience in the past 5 years (k) Experience planning job process scheduling for large-scale business applications. - 2 years or more experience in the past 5 years (l) Experience providing support in a CA-IDMS (Rel 14.1 or higher). - 1 year or more experience in the past 5 years (m) Experience in using OS390 or ZOS COBOL, TSO/ISPF C-lists, Panels, Culprit and JCL. - 1 year or more experience in the past 5 years (n) Experience with Zeke. - 1 year or more experience in the past 5 years (o) Experience using TSO/ISPF and C-lists. - 1 year or more experience in the past 5 years (p) A minimum of 4 years combined related experience and education as stated below. Additional education and\or experience is preferred. | |
